Robert Bruce Young studied architecture at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, and completed a master's degree in environmental studies (urban planning) at York University, Toronto. He worked in both of those fields before turning to writing.

His short story "Paper Icon" appears in the book POLISH(ED): Poland Rooted in Canadian Fiction, by Guernica Editions and distributed University of Toronto Press ( released in fall, 2017). Also in 2017, his "That's Not Bhangra" placed as Honourable Mention in the Canadian Authors Association's (Niagara) Ten Stories High contest.

Young's short fiction has appeared in the literary journals Great Lakes Review, Postscripts to Darkness, and Other Voices. He lives 100 km west of Toronto.
